The Richmond Fruit Tree Sharing Project is an AMAZING group! There are a few acres of (city-owned) land being farmed specifically for food banks and community organizations. The program I work for is blessed to be a beneficiary of the Sharing Farm. We also “shop” at Quest Food Exchange. The Gilmore Park United Church Community Meal serves a hot, nutritious dinner each Thursday at 5:30, January through November. All are welcome, regardless of social or economic situation, or faith background. For more about the Community Meal program, see http://www.gilmoreparkunited.org. Karen Dar Woon, Your Secret Chef, recently completed the 10 Mile Diet Challenge, with a group of Richmond residents. See the article in the Richmond Review (September 18 2008)

Just wanted to add… without the assistance of the Richmond Food Bank, Richmond Fruit Tree Sharing Project, and Quest Food Exchange, and countless volunteer hours, it would be IMpossible to serve the quality of meals we provide to the 100+ guests each week.
